INTRODUCTION
The Sanskrit word vastu means "any really existing or abiding substance or essence, thing, object, article", and also "goods, wealth,
property". The vrddhi, vāstu takes the meaning of " the site or foundation of a house, site, ground, building or dwelling-place, habitation, homestead, house".
The underlying root is vas "to dwell, live, stay, abide".
The term shastra may loosely be translated as "science, doctrine, teaching".
Vastu Shastra (vāstu śāstra, also Vastu Veda, "science of construction", "architecture") is a traditional Hindu system of design based on directional alignments. It is primarily applied in Hindu architecture,
Vastushastra is complete science, which deals in building construction whether it is residential, industrial, educational, commercial or any kind of utility shelter. Principal of Vastu shastra is based upon direction of Sun, Air, size, property of Soil etc. Face of Plot and all thing surroundings. Its starts from purchasing of land and end with completion of construction. Most of the people only think the face of the building, Flat entry, plot’s direction (N<E<S<W). Every part of our home have fixed position(direction) like master bed room, Drawing room, Dinning room, children room, study room, Kitchen storage, water storage, stairs etc. Before finalize the design, one always consider Vastu. Most of the architect know the simple method and convince the owner that your design is perfect as per Vastu.
Once we construct the building it is difficult to reallocate/reconstruct at right position. So it is suggested to all the persons who is willing to purchase or construct any kind of building to consult the person having best knowledge of Vastu Shastra.
If the Building, flat, factory, education organization and any type of constructed place are not as per vastu shastra, residee can never live peacefully. Always user will be in some problem like health problem, economic loss, career loss etc. It is easy to construct or purchase a building\ Flat but it is very difficult to remove the Vastu defect after completing the construction.
HISTORY OF VASTU SHASTRA
As per Matsyapuran, Andhkasur fought with lord shiva. During this fight ,Lord Shankar did excess exercise and a drop of sweat fallen and a peculiar creature born instantly. After looking the creature
Dev and Danav got feared. They caught the peculiar creature and brought instantly to Brahma ji and throw him on the earth with the consent of Braham ji. This peculiar creature fell down on earth and known as Vastu Purus.
Vastu shastra available in all world. Two things affect the human life first fate and second Vastu. Fate of man depend on Graha , Nakashtra’s direction and position. Vastu at house depends on magnetic flow(direction), effect of sun light directions, direction of wind and gravitational force. In India, literature of Vastu divide in two parts. First Northern Vastu shastra grantha are Rastramadan, Vishwkarama Prakash samarangan sutradhar and Vasturatanabali etc. In southern Vastu , Vishwaya nagari shilp, maymat, mansar, kashyap shilp, augustya sakladhar, shilp sangrah, shilp daar and chitram chitralankar etc. Nothen india follow nagar shaili(Nagar method) which was established by shambhu garg, atre , vashishtha, parashar, virdraya, vishwakarma and vashudev. Southern india follow dravid shaili(Dravid method) which is established by brahama, matang, bhrigu, kashyap etc. The main or basic principal are same in both shaili.
Key factor of Vastu shasta:-
In building construction, we consider only five elements. Following are the analysis of these five elements:
1. Earth:(Plot size, location, property of soil etc),
2. Water: Water storage, location of bathroom, drain system.
3. Fire: position of kitchen
4. Sky:-position of roof, height etc.
5. Air:- Position of door and window and open space.
The above are the 5 key elements of vastushatra. The meaning of above elements are broad. After analysis the above element, we fix the position building component like kitchen, Bathroom, Bed room,
Drawing room, Dinning hall, place of worship, stairs, main gate location, position and directions of doors/window, palnt and tree surrounding the building etc.
Direction plays a vital role in building construction for the consideration of Vastusharata.

It is well known facts that the industries which are establish as per vastu, their profit and growth will be always pioneered. Lal Qila main gate position were not fixed as per vastu shastra, so there were so many bloody incident happened in past. b) Main door never face a window.
c) Any heavy items like cabinet, chair etc never place near the main gate.
d) Position of main gate:- Divide the main gate wall in 9 equal division. Keep 5 division in right side and 3 division in left side during coming out from room.
e) Always open the gate in inside direction.

a) Best Location North, West, North-West. North prefer more due to this direction guarded by Kuber, the lord of wealth.
b) West and North-west receive the ray of sun set.
c) If living room located in other direction, Many cure possible to make it positive.
d) Arrange natural light through window.

The Most attentionable law:-
a) The main gate should be in north, east or west direction.
b) In any circumstance came to keep main gate in south direction, then made another gate in north direction also.
c) Heating machines like boiler etc always keep in south-east direction.
d) Installed generator always in west-south direction.
e) Guard room always keep left or right near the main gate. For example , if main gate situated at north direction, then guard room should be in west. If main gate is in east is in east, then guard room will be in south.
f) Always construct administrative place at fix position.
g) North-East always use for reception purpose only, otherwise keep this in open or make a small garden.
h) Water always keep at north east direction.
i) Toilet always construct in north-west direction.
j) Machine always installed in west direction o that operator face should be always in east direction.
